Hi, thanks for stopping by! I am thrilled to be back at Valencia teaching my favorite grade.
My teaching career began after graduating from Sarah Lawrence College with a Masters in Writing and then Stanford University's Teacher Education Program in 1998 with a Master's in Education and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English/Language Arts. Since then I've picked up a Multiple Subject Credential, a Mindful Educator Certification, and several yoga teaching certifications.
I love teaching because I like to be challenged, it's intellectually stimulating, and there's nothing better than connecting with my students (who teach me just as much as I teach them on a daily basis). Life is a journey and we are continuously learning from, and teaching, one another. It's what we do as humans. My job is fun, colorful, stimulating, rewarding, and never boring. I'm grateful to be here, and I want students to experience joy and acceptance in this classroom. It's up to all of us to create an environment that supports every person.
I'm proud to be a part of Valencia. It's a supportive, warm, caring community that cares about each student. Let's work together to make this a year we'll always cherish.
In kindness,
Ms. Gire
